Wedge formaiton is a good all-around formation that provides maneuver, security and fire. Generally used when transversing uncharted land with the possibility of combat.

File formation is used when visibility is low or transversing a bottleneck.

Squad Formations

Column

This squad-sized formation is similar to wedge providing security in all areas should combat occur.

Line

This formation has one purpose: to provide fire. Use this formation when combat is expected.
